The Tuvixeddu Necropolis
The
Tuvixeddu Necropolis is the biggest and most extensive area of
historical monuments in Cagliari.
Visitors to the Necropolis can admire various sepulchres of great
historic value, mainly of Phoenician and Punic origins. These
tombs, which were used from the end of the VI to the III century
B.C., are called "well" tombs, since they were accessible
through a well, at the bottom of which was a chamber.
Some of the tombs of this Necropolis are decorated, among which
the tomb of Ureo and the tomb of the "Combattente" (Warrior).
