Poetto Beach


Poetto is one of the most beautiful city beaches in the Mediterranean. It is just 5 Km from the centre of Cagliari and stretches along about 11 Km of sandy coastline. This fine, white sandy beach attracts thousands of locals, as well as tourists, all year round, and the many kiosks, bars and bathing establishments offer a wide range of services and comforts.
Thanks to the warm, Mediterranean climate, Poetto beach is a haven for beach-lovers from the end of April to the end of October.
In the waters around Poetto beach there are numerous sailing regattas and contests, among which:

• The 60 foot Italian Open Championship;
  
  
• The "Vela Latina Mediterranea", part of the international circuit;
  
  
• The Tiscali Cup.
  

In the nearby harbour of Marina Piccola visitors can admire all kinds of yachts, motorboats and sailing boats. For the more energetic. There are regattas, sailing and windsurfing courses, as well as the chance to rent boards and boats. The Marina also offers a very good restaurant and "gelateria", or ice-cream parlour, for those who just wish to take in the view.
