The Nuragic village of "Genna Maria"
Villanovaforru
The Genna Maria nuraghe is a nuragic complex
whose
central tower dates back to 1500 B.C..
The bastion with its three towers, central courtyard and well
was added at a later date, and then successively an outer wall
with six towers was built.
The remains of the primitive dwellings lie outside the fortified
structure, together with communal areas and artisan laboratories
for the working of pottery and iron.
