The Sanctuary of Our Lady Of Bonaria

Address:
Colle di Bonaria (The Sanctuary) - Cagliari city
Tel. + 39 070 301747

The Sanctuary of Our Lady Of Bonaria The Sanctuary was built between 1323 and 1326 A.D. and is the earliest example of Gothic-Catalan architecture in Sardinia.

The facade still conserves a beautiful Gothic doorway, saved from the ruins of the church of San Francesco, whilst inside there is the legendary sacred image of Our Lady of Bonaria.

The Museum of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Bonaria can be found in the cloister of the convent, where visitors can admire sacred objects and works of art, among which many votive offerings.

Another fascinating exhibit is the casket which,
according to tradition, carried the sacred image
of the Madonna to Cagliari in 1370.
