The Clemente Susini Waxwork CollectionThe collection belongs to the Anatomy Faculty of the University and is made up of 23 anatomy models, created by the Florentine wax modeller Clemente Susini, which date back to the beginning of the nineteenth century.

They were commissioned by the viceroy Carlo Felice between 1801 and 1805 while Francesco Boi was the professor of Anatomy.

These sectional models which were made in Florence, from plaster casts for anatomical study, reproduce in the most minute detail the parts of the
human body. They are made from different coloured
waxes, resin, tallow, pitch and balsams.
