Cala Domestica

The south west coast of the Province of Cagliari presents a rugged,
lonely coastline.
Between Buggerru
and Nebida the limestone cliffs of Cala Domestica stretch for kilometres.
The only inlet to interrupt this coastline is divided into two beaches,
the smaller of the two is known as La
Caletta (the Little Cove).
Near the larger beach visitors can see the remains of the abandoned
miners' houses, which were part of a mining complex, now in disuse.
There
was once also a small railway, which used to carry the extracted mineral
from the mines to the port and awaiting ships. The whole coast is dominated
by a Spanish tower which rises up from the rugged, limestone headland.
