The Giants' Tomb of Li Lolghi (Arzachena)
The
Giants' Tomb of Li Lolghi, built between 1800 and 1200 B.C., is one
of the largest and best preserved in Sardinia and lies just a few kilometres
from Arzachena.
The oldest part was later enlarged in the Nuragic Age, when a long corridor
for burials and the large, semicircular exedra were added. The central
stele, 3.75 m. high, has a small opening in the lower part, a typical
characteristic of this kind of monument, which represented the only
point of communication with the burial corridor.
