This museum is dedicated to the life and popular traditions of the
people of Sardinia. It boasts over 7,000 exhibits, which date back
to a period ranging from the end of the 1800s to the mid 1900s.
The museum is divided into seven sections:
- Clothing
- Jewels and amulets
- Masks
- Fabric
- Bread
- Musical instruments
- Domestic instruments and utensils

The museum is dedicated to the writer Grazia Deledda (1871 - 1936)
and occupies the house in Nuoro where she was born. She was the Nobel
Prize Winner for Literature in 1926 and is noted for her deep understanding
and love for the island and its people. The house is typical of the
region of Nuoro and dates back to the mid 1800s. The building was
carefully restored recently and today re-proposes the original, architectural
characteristics. The ground floor of the museum recreates the historic
period in which the writer lived, with typical furnishings and objects
from every day use. The various rooms are dedicated to documents relating
to the writer, letters, newspaper cuttings and, of course, her works.
On the second floor visitors can see the writer's bedroom with personal
effects and a reproduction of the Nobel Prize.

This museum is dedicated to contemporary art and occupies a beautiful
nineteenth century building in the historic centre of Nuoro. The collection
includes about a hundred paintings dating from between the beginning
of the last century to the 1970s. Among the exhibits visitors can
admire works of art by such illustrious painters as Antonio Ballero,
Mario Delitala, Giuseppe Biasi, Giovanni Ciusa Romagna, Filippo Figari,
Stanis Dessy, Mauro Manca and Costantino Nivola.
- Museo "Nivola" - Orani

This museum is dedicated to the sculptor Costantino Nivola (Orani
1911 - East Hampton 1988) and is situated in the town's old wash-house,
which was recently perfectly restored to its former glory. There are
numerous extraordinary works of art exhibited, including the statues
of the "grandi madri", maternal figures.

This ethnographic museum occupies a beautiful, characteristic building,
which was recently perfectly restored to its former glory. The building
belonged to Antioco Casula, known as "Montanaru" to the
art world, famous for his poetry in Sardinian dialect. The museum
is divided into three sections and traces the traditional aspects
of the life and activities of the local communities.

The Natural Science Museum is divided into various sections: mineralogy,
palaeontology, entomology, ornithology, mammalogy, herpetology and
malacology.

The museum is dedicated to the pastoral, agricultural and mining activities
of the area and traces the history of the Sardinian emigrants and
the inmates of the Baronial Prison. It occupies a beautiful liberty
style building and boasts a vast collection of exhibits which bear
witness to the historical and cultural aspects of the people of Seui.
Visitors should not miss a tour of the Baronial Prison, which recreates
the dramatic conditions of the inmates of the past. Visitors can admire
the various furnishings, the women's cells, the recreation room, the
men's cells, the solitary confinement cell and the inmates' outdoor
courtyard.
- Museo Diocesano dell'Ogliastra -

The museum offers an insight into the traditions of the territory
and the history of the Ogliastra region and its diocese. The exhibits
are divided into various sections:
- section A: minerals, fossils and archaeological finds
- section B: exhibits which trace the history of the diocese
- section C: liturgical objects
- section D: various historical testimony to the area's ancient past
- section E: a collection of curiosities

This "open-air" museum is dedicated to contemporary art
and displays a selection of exhibits made from plastic. The large
works of art were constructed directly on the site of the museum and
reflect the natural environment, the history and the people of the
area.

This house-museum represents the typical old country houses to be
found in the Ogliastra region. It dates back to the 1700s and still
preserves much of its original structure. Inside, the rooms recreate
authentic scenes from the past and visitors can admire traditional
furnishings and objects from daily life.

This archaeological museum is dedicated to the impressive stone structures
discovered in the area. It boasts about forty monoliths, some of which
are of remarkable dimensions, which trace the development of the exceptional
phenomenon of anthropomorphic statuary in Sardinia.
