  A magnificent archaeological collection from the Neolithic, Nuragic, Punic and Roman eras. The large plastic model of the ancient city of Tharros (early IV century B.C.) is particularly interesting, as is the exceptional Phoenician cavalier.

  The museum is situated on the banks of the Cabras lagoon and is arranged in different sections. Visitors can trace the history of man in the district back to ancient times through the archaeological finds discovered at the human settlements in the area and exhibited in the museum. Excavation work has proved that man's presence on the Sinis Peninsular dates back to the beginning of the IV century B.C.

  The museum occupies two floors. The exhibits on the ground floor were uncovered in the excavation work carried out at the Nuragic Complex of Santa Cristina, whilst the first floor boasts a splendid collection of furnishings, instruments and various materials from the old farming communities.
