The Coast Road

  • Oristano

  • San Vero Milis
The countryside around San Vero Milis is very varied: from the cultivated, fertile plains to the "desert" of Is Arenas, with its 50 metre high sand dunes, to the marshland environments, in particular the Sa 'è Proccus lagoon, to the crystalline seas of its beaches: Putzu Idu, Sa Mesa Longa, S'Arena Scoada, Mandriola, Sa Rocca Tunda, Su Pallosu, Sa Marigosa, su Crastu Biancu and Is Arenas.

  • Riola Sardo
Riola Sardo is a flourishing agricultural town in the Province of Oristano, above all noted for its production of Vernaccia, a white table wine. The town borders on the northern part of the Sinis Peninsular and although it is a short stretch of shoreline it is very striking, with the impressive cliffs of Su Cantaru, Su Cuccuru Mannu, and Porto Suedda and the splendid Mari Ermì beach. Visitors should not miss the eighteenth century patrician residence belonging to the Carta family and the parish church of S.Martino (XVI century).

  • Cuglieri
The territory of Cuglieri presents an exceptional concentration of the very best that Sardinia has to offer: mountains, woods, rivers, beaches, imposing cliffs and a historic patrimony which goes from the Nuraghi of pre-historic times to the present day. The town itself is situated on the northern slopes of Montiferru and stretches over a fertile hillside, surrounded by fruit plantations, olive groves and woods. Visitors to the area will be enchanted not only by the beauty of the land, but also by the splendid coastline which unfolds before them, including such wonders as the beaches of Santa Caterina di Pittinurri, Torre del Pozzo and di S'Archittu. The latter boasts a splendid natural archway, sculptured in the rock by the movement of the sea, which has been declared a natural monument by UNESCO.
