Goni Population:
approx. 613 Goni
is a characteristic Sardinian village with an economy almost entirely based on
pastoral activity. It stands isolated in the centre of this wild, uninhabited
mountain region and is overlooked by the striking Goni Nuraghe. Among
the places to visit are the Romanesque church of San Basilio, the grotto of "Bau
Crabas" and the "Domu e' S'Orku" Nuraghe. Another fascinating
trip is to the dam on Lake Mulargia, surrounded by majestic mountains. However,
Goni is worth a visit just to see the extraordinary "Pranu
Mutteddu" megalithic necropolis. The beaches of the Sarrabus district
are just a few minutes' drive from Goni.
