The Mine of Monte Narba - San Vito

Among the most interesting sites, we recommend a visit to the mining
village of Monte Narba, which is currently being restored.
Although many buildings are in ruins, the technical office and the dormitory
for the technicians and administrative personnel are still more or less
intact.
There are also a few traces of the two premises where the workshops
were. Among the ruins of the mining village, visitors should not miss
the Mine Manager's residence.

The house is built on three floors and on the façade there is
a wrought iron balcony, which was once covered and sealed by two side
partitions.
Inside the house visitors can admire some of the fascinating commodities
which the manager and his family enjoyed, such as a refrigerator and
a wood or coal fuelled boiler.
The building where the offices were also presents some surprises. In
the room designated as the geological office there are still containers
for the topographic charts, maps and some engineers' designs. The remains
of the washery and the master well are also very interesting.
The mine and its surrounding buildings are looked after by a caretaker-warden.
